Honky Tonk
Just around the corner, Freo’s newest Honky Tonk will have you saying “Yee-haw!” in no time! With some good old-fashioned southern hospitality (including southern-style comfort food), live country music and vibes bigger than the Texas sky, you’re set for a rootin’-tootin’, boot-stompin’ hoedown!

Toots
If there’s one thing that’ll get us moving, it’s disco! And when we think disco, we think Toots. The hidden bar is one of our favourite spots to cut loose – not only do they pump plenty of dancefloor-starting tunes, but the disco balls, velvet and fun cocktails really don’t hurt either!
Subi Hotel
So you’ve had a lovely dinner in Subi, and feel like kicking on for a few more bevvies with your buds? The Subiaco Hotel hears you, and Saturday nights is home to Duelling Pianos – picture two of Perth’s finest muso’s battling it out on the keys, busting out the big tunes in a playfully chaotic fashion that’ll have you up and about well into the night. You’re involved too – requesting anything from classic anthems to today’s chart-toppers for the pianists to bring to life in an energetic piano showdown.

Mustang Bar
Open for almost years now, Mustang Bar is really a part of the fabric of Northbridge. Bringing Americana before dive bars were cool, this pumping spot is a favourite for dancers, with swing and salsa nights and plenty of live music to get you on your feet.

The Jazz Cellar
If you’re more of a jazzy Jeff, make sure to grab a couple of tickets to this Mount Hawthorn icon. Enter through the red phone booth, and remember that it’s BYO booze and snacks! The Jazz Cellar has the most important thing sorted though: the killer live band that’ll have you dancing all night long!

The National Hotel
This iconic Fremantle heritage pub is an all-timer when it comes to Fave Freo watering holes, especially as the weather warms up and the rooftop comes alive. And speaking of lively, the National Hotel‘s front bar downstairs has some kind of live music on most nights of the week, and things get a little bit livelier when the cover bands roll through on the weekend.

Ronnie Nights
While slinky cocktails and succulent snacks are always on the menu at Ronnie Nights, this fun little Freo joint is not averse to a dancefloor or two on the reg. Their upstairs band room gets pretty wild most weekends, with groovy Sunday sessions, live music and more.

Rodney’s Bait & Tackle
It’s no secret we’re big fan of Rodney‘s wacky fun house of fishing-themed trinkets for a bar (including half a boat inside the space), but if you up for a boogie it’s the place to be. Regularly hosting live bands, jazz and vinyl DJs on the weekends, get down early for a beer and bite to eat before you get down later.

Dayshift Party
Dayshift is a party for the 30+ generation who “want the unmatched energy of a club, but detest the idea of being out past midnight.” Regularly hosting events around Australia, the next edition in our neck of the woods is Saturday 22 February at Freo.Social. Running from 4-9pm, get all the fun of nightclub vibes (DJs, dancers, disco balls), but still tucked into bed nice and early!
No Lights No Lycra
First starting in Melbourne way back in 2011, No Lights No Lycra is the wholesome goodness we need to start our week right. The international phenomenon is the perfect way to get active and let loose like nobody’s watching – because they aren’t! With groups in West Leederville, Joondalup, East Vic Park, Scarborough and Bassendean, the weekly dance parties take place in a dark room so you can truly let loose with no fear of judging eyes!
OUTdance
Celebrating a hugely impressive 21 years in 2022, OUTdance brings together LGBTQI+ dancers of all ages for weekly ballroom classes and social dancing – from the Cuban rumba to the samba, the cha cha and the jive!
