Yellow
57 Macleay Street, Potts Point

This award-winning Potts Point fine diner is a firm favourite and a must for any special occasionâand it’s completely vegan.
After being under the reins of Brent Savage since 2013, Yellow switched owners in March 2025, with Head Chef Sander Nooij now leading the kitchen, whose experience spans Sydneyâs iconic Quay Restaurant and Londonâs Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social.
The rotating menu still turns out all sorts of fresh, seasonal produce into unrecognisable and delicious forms in a six-course tasting menu that spans snacks, hearty main dishes and elegant desserts for $125pp, with wine and non-alcoholic pairings available too.

Vegan or not, Vandal is one of Sydneyâs best Mexican restaurants. An homage to the Latino food trucks of Los Angeles, the eatery’s walls are covered in street art, and the flavours coming out of the kitchen are mouth-watering.
Serving âinauthentic Mexicanâ, you can order âcheeseâ burger spring rolls with house-made “beefâ patty, popcorn âprawnsâ, wild mushroom quesadillas and all the vegan tacos your heart desires. Golden Lotus
341 King Street, Newtown
Another staple for lovers of a plant-based diet is Golden Lotus on King Street. Just across the road from Newtown train station, this convenient and inexpensive Vietnamese BYO restaurant, marked by its âVeganism Is Magicâ pink neon sign, is a classic for dinner with mates or even a first dateâyou really canât go wrong here.
The menu is hefty, with plenty of options that make it difficult to choose. The vegan âduckâ pancakes and salt and chilli âcalamariâ are always fun, but our favourite has to be the crispy faux chicken pho. Walk-ins only or order online.

Gigi Pizzeria
379 King Street, Newtown

Image credit: Gigi Pizzeria | Instagram
Gigi Pizzeria is easily one of the best vegan restaurants in Sydney, and, given how brilliant these guys are at creating seriously delicious vegan pizza, itâs a perfect introduction to plant-based dining for those who are a little hesitant.
Gigi went vegan in 2015 as owner Marco Matino wanted to create a menu that reflected his own food ethics. However, what makes Gigi extra unique is that it remains a member of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, which verifies authentic Napoletana-style, wood-fired pizza. So, itâs vegan, but itâs also legitâeasily some of the best pizza in Sydney right now. Walk-ins only or order online.
Insider Intel
- Our favourite is the Melazane, a grilled eggplant number with a San Marzano base, tree nut ricotta, basil salsa, Green Vie parmesan and a good dose of olive oil.Â

Crown Street’s vegan go-to has been around for more than a decade, and while it started out as a vegetarian restaurant, Yulli’s has transitioned to full-blown veganism.
The share-style menu takes cues from South East Asian and Mediterranean cuisinesâwe’re particular fans of the kale and saltbush gyoza, mini Vietnamese pancakes, super-sticky Korean fried broccolini, and crispy tofu cream cauliflower pappardelle. Just make sure you leave room for the sticky date pud, which has been a crowd favourite for years.

- Their sibling venue, Yulli’s Brews in Alexandria, is a brewery founded on the same vegan principlesâand it makes some pretty top-tier brews, too.
